Recoil Rumble Review: One Button, Endless Chaos

A typical round lasts anywhere from 1 to 3 minutes depending on how many enemies show up. You click, your gun fires and recoils into a new rotation, then you click again to shoot from wherever it landed. Enemies move and shoot back, so you're constantly repositioning between shots. I lost my first 5 or 6 runs because I kept trying to micro-manage where the gun pointed instead of just trusting the momentum. Early levels ease you in with slow targets and open arenas, but by level 4 or 5 things get crowded fast. You'll miss shots, your gun will spin wildly, and enemies will close the gap before you recover. Honestly, the third or fourth level spike caught me off guard — I went from breezing through to dying twice in a row.

You literally only need the left mouse button to play. Click or tap to shoot, and that's it — the recoil physics handle the rest of the aiming for you. I tapped randomly at first trying to "aim" but turns out the gun does its own thing after each shot. Took me a solid minute to stop fighting it and just let the physics do their job.

Most one-button games lean on timing or rhythm, but Recoil Rumble hands you physics instead and that's the twist that makes it work. Compare it to a standard clicker shooter where you just aim and fire — here your gun literally fights you, and mastering that chaos is the whole appeal. It's also way pickier than it looks, so if you want something you can coast through, this isn't it.
