Ben 10 Alien Onslaught Review — Free Browser Arcade Chaos

A typical run starts slow with just a couple of alien types, and you're mowing them down almost immediately. Around the two-minute mark things get noticeably harder — more enemies, faster spawns, and you really start juggling your alien transformations to survive. Bosses show up after you survive long enough, and beating one feels pretty satisfying since you've earned it. Each run takes maybe five to ten minutes depending on how badly you get crushed. Early on I made the mistake of dumping all my coins into one upgrade path instead of spreading them out, and it bit me hard when I hit the harder waves. There's also 35 achievements to chase which gives you something to work toward between runs. Pro tip: don't ignore the artifacts you unlock, they actually change how your aliens play and some combos are way stronger than others.

On desktop you move with WASD or the arrow keys and aim your attacks with the mouse. Took me a bit to figure out that the mouse controls your attack direction independently from where you're walking, which feels weird at first. Mobile just uses both thumbs for movement and aiming at the same time. Instructions inside the game cover any extra stuff you need to know.

If you've played other survival arcade games like Vampire Survivors, this scratches a similar itch but with a Ben 10 coat of paint that actually adds something — the alien swapping gives you way more active decision-making than most auto-attack survivors. It doesn't reinvent the genre, and the graphics are nothing special, but the variety from the different arenas and bosses keeps it from getting stale. For a free browser game, it's got more depth than you'd expect.
