Wizard Puppy: Magic Sort Review – Pouring Colors With a Pup
Sort colored liquids into matching bottles in Wizard Puppy: Magic Sort. Click two bottles to pour, one color at a time. Brain-teaser fun.
What is Wizard Puppy: Magic Sort?
You pour colored liquids between bottles until each bottle holds only one color. Pretty much standard water-sort puzzle stuff but dressed up with a wizard puppy theme and some potion-y visuals. Levels get trickier as you add more bottles and stack up four or five colors at once. If you're the type who kills time on logic puzzles or color-sorting apps on your phone, this one's right in your wheelhouse. It's casual and low-pressure, good for zoning out after work. But if you need explosions or a story hook, this won't do much for you. The "magic" is mostly cosmetic, not a real mechanic.
Honestly I spent about 20 minutes on this one before I figured out the controls — but once it clicks, it clicks. If you end up liking Wizard Puppy: Magic Sort, there's more where that came from. How to Play Wizard Puppy: Magic Sort
A typical level takes maybe 3-5 minutes once you know what you're doing, longer on the trickier ones. You click a bottle, see how much liquid is on top, and try to dump it into a matching color. Bottles have limited space so you can't just dump everything into one pile. My biggest early mistake was not planning ahead. I poured blue into a bottle thinking I'd deal with the rest later and completely boxed myself in. Had to restart that level. The early stages are forgiving enough that you can brute-force it, but somewhere around level 6 or 7 you actually have to think a few moves ahead or you're stuck undoing.
Sorting puzzles are your thing and you want something with a twist, Fruit Merger scratches a similar itch.
Game Controls Wizard Puppy: Magic Sort
Just left mouse button or tap. Click a bottle to grab it, then click another bottle with matching liquid to pour. The whole drag-free thing took me a second to get used to since I'm wired to click-and-drag everything. Once it clicks, it's actually faster than dragging would be.
Keyboard controls can feel a bit weird the first 2 or 3 rounds, but they get comfortable fast. For a different control setup, try Spot the Difference Forever Free Browser Puzzle Game — it uses a similar scheme and runs just as smooth on BB Online Game.

Tips & Tricks Wizard Puppy: Magic Sort
Always check how many layers of each color are in a bottle before you commit a pour
Try to finish a color in one bottle before moving on, so you free it up as empty space
Don't pour a color into a bottle unless you're sure it matches the top layer
Leave at least one bottle mostly empty as a spare, especially after level 5
Lesson learned the hard way: never pour into your last empty bottle too early or you trap yourself
If you get stuck, hit undo and look for the move that opens up the most options

Why Play Wizard Puppy: Magic Sort?
Most free color-sorting games I've tried are either ugly ad farms or way too aggressive with timers. Wizard Puppy sits in a nice middle ground. It doesn't reinvent the genre but the visuals are cute and the difficulty curve actually feels fair, not like it just throws chaos at you around level 10. The puppy theme is admittedly shallow, but at least it's not another generic liquid puzzle skin.
